Frequently asked questions

How does Session Review work?

Teachers fill in a short summary after each session — what was covered and what to work on next. With one tap they sync it, and the student sees it in the Session Review Learner app after entering the teacher's six-character code or scanning their QR card. It's a one-way notes tool from teacher to student or parent.

Where do I get my code?

Your teacher gives it to you. In the Educator app they add you as a student — or add a class — and Session Review creates a six-character code and a QR card they can show, print, or send. You only need to enter it once.

Can I use it for a whole class?

Yes. A teacher can create a class with a single code. Everyone who joins with it — 5 or 500 — reads the same session notes.

Do I need to create an account?

Yes. Both apps use an account so your information stays with you if you change phones, including moving between iPhone and Android. You can sign in with Apple, sign in with Google, or use an email address and password.

How much does it cost?

Both apps are free to download and free to start.

• Session Review Educator is free with up to three students and one class, with unlimited sessions and notes.
• Session Review Learner is free to connect to your teacher, see every session they send, and write your own notes.

Session Review Pro is an optional AU$9.99/year subscription in each app. In the Educator app it adds more students and classes, PDF sharing and export, and sending notes to students. In the Learner app it adds reading the full session, saving the PDF, and connecting to more than one teacher. Prices are shown in your local currency in the app before you buy.

I paid on my iPhone — does Pro work on my Android device too (or the other way round)?

Yes. Pro is linked to your Session Review account, not the store. Sign in with the same account in the same app on your other device and Pro is unlocked there too.

How do I cancel or get a refund?

Cancel through the store you bought from, at least 24 hours before the renewal date.

• iPhone or iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Refunds: reportaproblem.apple.com.
• Android: Google Play Store app → your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Refunds: support.google.com/googleplay.

Deleting the app or your account does not cancel a subscription.

Can a student reply to the teacher in the app?

No. Session Review is deliberately one-way, from teacher to student or parent. If you need to discuss something, that's a conversation for the lesson.

Can I have more than one teacher?

Yes. A student can hold codes from several teachers (connecting to more than one teacher needs Session Review Pro in the Learner app; a teacher's classes never count as extra). Each teacher keeps their own separate thread of sessions and notes.

What can my teacher see?

Only what they record for you. A teacher sees the sessions and notes they've written for you, and the display name on the account that redeemed their code. Notes you write for yourself in the Learner app are private to you and are never sent to a teacher.

How do I get my information removed?

Teachers can remove a student in the Educator app at any time, which deletes their notes and frees the code. Either app can delete its whole account and data from Settings → Delete account. Which devices are supported?

iPhone and iPad running iOS 17 or later, and Android phones and tablets running Android 8.0 or later. An internet connection is needed to sync; the apps work offline and catch up afterwards.
